In collaboration with the Al Salam Cycling Championship, HIPA is pleased to announce the 10th edition of the Al Salam Championship Cycling Photo Contest, celebrating the dynamic fusion of athletic excellence and artistic expression.

We invite professional and aspiring photographers to capture the energy, resilience and competitive spirit of the Arqoub Sedira Race (Men and Women), highlighting the strength and determination of the cyclists as they race from Mawasem Park in the Al Samha area in Abu Dhabi to the Saih Al Salam area in Dubai, covering a distance of 100 km.

Participants are encouraged to submit their photo(s) that truly capture the essence of this extraordinary race.

Rules

  • The competition is open for online submissions only (the “Submissions”), through the website https://hipa.ae/members/login .
  • Submissions will be accepted from 12:45 pm on 8th February 2026 until 11:59 pm on 15th February 2026 (UAE Local Time – GMT +4). No submissions made after the closing time will be accepted.
  • Participants must be individuals aged 18 years and over at the time of their submission.
  • Each participant may submit a maximum of three (3) photographs to this competition.
  • Each participant must share the submitted photo(s) on their Instagram account.
  • All submitted photos must be taken during the competition period and at the Al Salam Championship. Old or previously taken photos will not be accepted.
  • Submitted photos must include the original file in RAW or JPEG format, be of high quality and resolution, with a minimum file size of 5 MB. The longest edge must be no less than 2000 pixels, and the resolution must be no less than 300 dpi to be suitable for publication.
  • The submitted photo must not contain any tags, signatures, initials, frames, borders, logos, or any other references and/or marks added by the participant.
  • Basic technical editing of the photo is acceptable, provided that such editing does not affect the authenticity and/or genuineness of the photo.
  • HIPA and the Al Salam Championship Service reserve the right to assess and discard from the competition any submitted photo deemed contrary to the foregoing rules.
  • Photos that portray or otherwise include inappropriate and/or offensive content, including nudity, violence, and/or any content deemed to be contrary to UAE religious, cultural, and/or public moral traditions and practices, will be disqualified.
  • The race will start from Mawasem Park in the Al Samha area in Abu Dhabi ( View location ) and head towards the Saih Al Salam area in Dubai.
  • Photographers are required to attend a briefing from 7:00 AM to 8:00 AM, during which car permits will be provided.
  • Photographers must choose one location with a distinctive view along the race route.
  • Photographers may follow the race map and route through the Al Salam Championship’s official social media pages.
  • Photographers must be positioned at their designated locations before the race begins at 9:00 AM. Abu Dhabi and Dubai Police will secure traffic and the race route. Only vehicles from the Organizing Committee or authorized vehicles will be allowed to follow the race. Photographers’ vehicles must be four-wheel drive.
  • Photography is permitted within Abu Dhabi and Dubai, exclusively along the race route.
  • Photography is allowed only from the sides of the road. Entering the race route or approaching cyclists for photographs is strictly prohibited to ensure everyone’s safety.
  • Drone usage is permitted during the race in accordance with the regulations of the General Civil Aviation Authority. Flying is allowed only in designated green zones, which can be viewed via the DMS application.
  • All participants must comply with the instructions of Abu Dhabi Police, Dubai Police, and the Supreme Organizing Committee of the race.
